Ali (pronounced uh-lee) is an NYC based artist/activist who has been spearheading illness inclusion in the arts and creating original plays and films about illness and disability since 2016. Ali has spoken on panels about chronic illness and disability inclusion in the arts and has led workshops for a number of organizations on how to tell your story. She received acting training at The New York Conservatory For Dramatic Arts and was part of the inaugural cohort with Queens Theatre’s Theatre For All Program. Ali is passionate about creating accessible, trauma informed, consent based rehearsal spaces and has trained with Intimacy Directors and Coordinators, Theatrical Intimacy Education, and Heartland Intimacy Design and Training. As a teaching artist, Ali has taught with Girl Be Heard, Young Audiences New York, and Queens Theatre, working with students across NYC to devise and create their own plays.
